Hôtel Mercure Le Havre Centre Bassin Du Commerce

Not the first time at this hotel. Reception and lobby looks good. Breakfast is nice with good selection. Dinner is very disapointing. One server was welcoming. Staff has low knowladge in English language, makes it hard to comunicate. Some people do receive bread before dinner, but I wasnt one of them. Ordered duck breast for dinner, one of the worst dishes ever (24€). Chef though he was cooking chicken. Plate doesnt represent 4 star hotel Left half of the plate full, again staff did not care to ask if there was any issues with the dish. Most of the staff has an attitude, you can stand in front of the bar for hours, no one will welcome you. Staff smoking in front of the hotel also doesnt make it welcoming

stayed here for almost 2 weeks, the staff is very nice, accomidating and speaks great english. rooms is good size and bed is comfortable( not to soft ), there is a small fridge and coffee/tea maker and 42" size TV. the toilet/bathroom was okey, but the toilet was installed very low to the floor wich was a bit weird, also the toilet had a very weak flush that resulted in the fact you needed to flush 3 times before it was empty and the interior in general could need a renovation. they have a parking basement for 11 euros pr day, wich is okey, never had a problem with finding a spot. But you can park outside for free in the hours between 18:00 to 9:00. the dining was nice with good food and not that expensive. the main problem is just that the hotel is too warn down for the price they are asking, the rooms a fine but they are outdated, especially the toilet/shower room. i would stay here again if they decreased the price by 10% maybe.
